At Foothills Veterinary Hospital, our approach to veterinary medicine revolves around comprehensive, competent, and compassionate care. Cats are very good at hiding illness. Most cats will become less active, less interactive, and may eat a bit less. Symptoms of disease in cats are usually very subtle. If you see any minor changes in your cat’s behavior, it may be a sign of illness, so don’t hesitate to call our Hospital.

Comprehensive Feline Medicine

At Foothills Hospital, we believe that preventive medicine is the best way to keep your cat healthy for years to come. We recommend annual or bi-annual examinations depending on the age and health of your cat. Wellness examinations establish a baseline of health for your pet by evaluating body weight, heart and lung function, eyesight and eye health, the abdomen, skin, lymph nodes, and ear health and hearing.

During your cat’s wellness exam, we will also screen for underlying conditions such as heart murmurs, periodontal disease, kidney disease, abdominal masses, or hormone imbalances. Our veterinarians will also discuss your pet’s lifestyle and address any questions or concerns you may have about nutrition and diet, exercise, supplements, and other preventive steps important to your pet’s long-term health.

At Foothills, we take client education very seriously. Your cat’s annual or biannual wellness exam is a perfect opportunity to update you on the most current protocols and advancements in veterinary medicine. Each year, the recommendations and standards for core vaccinations are updated, and we are here to help you learn about which vaccines your cat needs to prevent common illnesses and diseases.

Emergencies After Hours

If you happen to need urgent care for your cat during the weekend, our sister hospital Bozeman Pet Hospital can help.  They are open Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 9pm, and have access to your pet’s records!  If you need urgent help outside our and Bozeman Pet Hospital’s hours, we will refer you to Pets Emergency Hospital – 406 587-3996, an emergency clinic nearby.
