At Foothills Veterinary Hospital our approach to veterinary medicine revolves around comprehensive, competent, and compassionate care. Our veterinarians and staff strive to prevent, diagnose, and treat whatever ailment your dog may be facing. We will listen, and communicate, with owners to make sure they understand their dog’s health concerns, and how to make the best choices for their dogs.
Through communication and trust we have built many great relationships with our clients, and we value the long-term mutual respect we have with them. That mutual respect allows us to partner with clients to provide the best care for their dogs.
Our dedication to our client community and the highest quality of medicine are why our Hospital is so respected across the veterinary community. American Animal Hospital Association hospitals, such as Foothills Veterinary Hospital, are ranked among the top 12% of veterinary practices nationwide for quality of care.
At Foothills Hospital, we believe that preventive medicine is the best way to keep your dog healthy for years to come. We recommend annual or bi-annual examinations depending on the age and health of your dog. Wellness examinations establish a baseline of health for your pet by evaluating body weight, heart and lung function, eye sight and eye health, the abdomen, skin, lymph nodes, and ear health and hearing.
During your dog’s wellness exam, we will also screen for underlying conditions such as heart murmurs, periodontal disease, abdominal masses, or hormone imbalances. Our veterinarians will also discuss your pet’s lifestyle and address any questions or concerns you may have about nutrition and diet, exercise, supplements, and other preventive steps important to your pet’s long-term health.
At Foothills, we take client education very seriously. Your dog’s annual or biannual wellness exam is a perfect opportunity to update you on the most current protocols and advancements in veterinary medicine. Each year, the recommendations and standards for core vaccinations are updated, and we are here to help you learn about which vaccines your dog needs to prevent common illnesses and diseases.
